SHKP Literary Magazine Rediscovering Chinese material civilization
The latest bi-monthly free magazine to promote reading is launched! The debut edition of the magazine drew huge response in February, with 40,000 copies snapped up within three weeks since the magazine went on bookshelves. In the latest April edition, the theme is about 'rediscovering Chinese material civilization'. Scholar Lau Sai-leung gives a detailed analysis tracing the historical development of Chinese traditional cultures, rediscovering Chinese material civilization and its value from ancient literatures, historical figures and different local cultures in China. Leung Man-tao talks to contemporary scholar Chiu Kwong-chiu on his innovative interpretation of Chinese classics. The magazine is available for free at 19 SHKP malls and over 70 bookstores across Hong Kong.
